Tours to 1916 Verdun battlefield  

and

the Meuse-Argonne, St.-Mihiel battlefields of 1918 

I recommend that starting from Germany we take a minimum of one whole day for each battlefield

to get a basic overview over the area and the history.

From Kaiserslautern/Ramstein area daytrips to these destinations can be arranged.

Destinations vary if we travel by minibus or a large bus, as many places can't be reached with big busses.

- Verdun 1916

Early morning departure, breakfast stop on the way.

Visit of Verdun Museum/Memorial (closed until 2016) the destroyed village of Fleury, the Douaumont ossuary,  

the French cemetery with over 15.000 graves, the Doaumont fort, the outskirts of the fort Vaux.

Fort Froid de Terre.

- St.-Mihiel 1918

THURSDAYS ONLY

Early morning departure, breakfast stop on the way.

We start the day with the visit of "Les Eparges" where French and German forces foght each other for almost 4 long years. From there we visit the Montsec American Monument.  Leaving Montsec we will drive to the St.-Mihiel American cemetery and memorial and afterward to the Thiaucourt military museum before we see the German Thiaucourt-Regnieville cemetery where soldiers of the Franco/Prussian war, WWI and WWII are buried.

- Meuse-Argonne battlefields 1918

Early morning departure, breakfast stop on the way.

We start the day at the location of the "Lost Battalion" before we visit the area where Sgt. Alvin York 

of the 82nd Infantry Division earned his Medal of Honor. Then we visit a local museum where we have lunch before we visit the Meuse-Argonne American cemetery and Memorial.

Our last stop will be the giant Montfaucon American Memorial before we drive back.
